PREVIEW – Rumours

PREVIEW – Rumours

The Chesil Theatre, Winchester, is delighted to present Neil Simon’s witty and hilarious farce, Rumours, as their November production

Glenn and Cassie arrive at the stylish home of Charlie, a Permanent Under Secretary at the Treasury, and his wealthy wife, Vivian, who are holding a party to celebrate their anniversary. But where are they? There have been rumours at the tennis club about an affair. Would that explain the gunshot?

At all costs a scandal must be prevented. The attempts get more frantic and manic with the arrival of other well-heeled guests, all of whom have positions to maintain in society.

So the excuses, deceptions, confusion and outright lies begin for they must stop the rumour that he has tried to commit suicide.

Such is the demand for tickets, that the Theatre will be offering an extra preview performance Friday 15th November 2019 7.45pm. Tickets for the preview £10 are available from with the usual ticket club discounts.  The show runs from Saturday 16th – 23rd November 7.45pm Matinee Sunday 17th 2.30pm

Tickets are already selling for the productions coming up in the New Year, when Chesil Theatre will be presenting in complete contrast Henrik Ibsen’s classic drama Ghosts, which runs from 25th January to 1st February 2020.
