Robin Hood

19 December 2021: POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19

Important update from New Forest Players:

“New Forest Players are deeply saddened to announce our decision to postpone the pantomime Robin Hood, which was due to start at The New Milton Memorial Centre shortly after Christmas.

Due to the uncertainty and risk surrounding the Omicron variant of Covid-19, we have taken the difficult decision to reschedule the production. The health and safety of our audience, cast and crew is our primary concern and given the current situation we believe that the best decision for this show is to move it to next year. Although this is hugely disappointing, particularly to the cast and creative team who have put so much effort into producing a hugely entertaining show for you, we feel that by making this decision now, we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe and introduce some certainty into a very uncertain time.

We hope our audience and members will understand this difficult decision. Although financial matters are secondary to health and safety concerns, New Forest Players may lose a considerable sum in unrecoverable expenses as a result of this decision, which as a small charity will be painful to incur. We are negotiating with our service providers and hope to limit this damage.

New Dates

New Forest Players has decided to stage Robin Hood instead as a summer show in 2022. We plan to stage it at the Memorial Hall, from Thursday 28 – Sunday 31 July 2022, with performance times the same as originally intended.

Ticket Options

We hope you will want to come to Robin Hood in July 2022. If you are happy to retain your tickets, they will be valid for the equivalent performance in July to the one you had booked (so for instance, a ticket for the Saturday matinée on 1 January 2022 will be valid for the same seats at the matinée performance on 30 July 2022).

If you would prefer a refund, we are happy to arrange that by email request to boxoffice@newforestplayers.com, stating the order number for the tickets you purchased.

If you would rather telephone about your refund request, you may call the box office telephone line on 01425 542414. This line will be manned for two sessions per week into mid-January, usually Wednesdays between 4 pm and 6 pm and Saturdays between 9 am and 11 am. At other times, you can leave a voicemail on that number, which we will address as soon as it is convenient.

The deadline for requesting refunds is 31 January 2022.

We will arrange refunds to the credit / debit card which was used for the purchase. Inevitably it is likely to take some time to process these, but we will endeavour to complete refunds as soon as possible.

Tickets for the July production will go on sale in April.”

Robin Hood

Written by Martin Cox and directed by Sarah Haberfield

Join Robin Hood and his Merry Men as they pit themselves against the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and his idiot henchmen, Snatch and Grab. Will the babes, Milly and Billy, be safe in the care of Nurse Wendy Wobblebottom and the beauteous Maid Marian…? And will the daft Norman and his pet bear, Tiny, be a help or hindrance to the brave Robin Hood?

Only one way to find out!

The New Forest Players are delighted to be back in Pantoland this year and are looking forward to welcoming you all along for the ride!
