Broadstone Players next production will be ‘Steel Magnolias’. It was made into a feature film starring Dolly Parton and Julia Roberts back in the 1980s, when it is set, so expect big hair and shoulder pads……and one or two well remembered tunes
It is a wonderful play, full of every emotion under the sun. Director Mar Godfrey says ” I am very proud to be directing the play and have an excellent cast, all female. Set in a hair and beauty salon, two of the actors have to ‘do’ ladies’ hair at the same time as delivering their lines, so we are having some rehearsals where they just practice their hairdressing skills!”
Steel Magnolias will be performed in Broadstone War Memorial Hall Theatre from Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th May at 7.30pm and also the matinee on Saturday 25th May at 2.15pm. Complimentary tea and cakes are served during the matinee interval.
The tickets are £6.50 for the Tuesday opening night and £8.50 for all other performances. They can be reserved by email to email@example.com or by phone on 01202 678449. They are also on sale at Broadstone News and Wimborne Tourist Information Centre.
