All Saints Dramatic Society The Importance of Being Earnest All Saints’ Dramatic Society returns from lockdown with a production of Oscar Wilde’s much-loved comedy of manners, ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’. Two young gents have taken to bending the truth in order to put some excitement into their lives. Jack Worthing has invented a brother, Ernest, whom he uses as an excuse to leave his dull life behind to visit Gwendolen Fairfax in the town. Algernon Moncrieff decides to take the name Ernest when visiting Jack’s young and beautiful ward, Cecily Cardew, in the country. Things start to go awry

20 March 2020: Coronavirus Update         Today, in increasing efforts to contain and prevent the further spread of coronavirus, the Government has ordered all theatres to officially close until further notice. Although we would all wish that the “show could go on”, this is not possible at the present time – public health and safety must come before all else, though we share your disappointment at the necessary temporary halt to performances.
